Endocrinology

The Department of Endocrinology provides comprehensive, patient centred care for disorders of hormones and metabolism for adults. We diagnose and manage conditions involving the pancreas, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal glands, parathyroid glands, and metabolic systems. Our emphasis is on individualized, pragmatic, cost-effective evidence based medicine, compassionate care, and long term follow up.

Scope of Services/Diagnosis and Treatments 

  • Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1, Type 2, Pancreatic, Gestational diabetes and other rare forms of diabetes) - Thyroid Disorders - hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, goitre, thyroiditis
  • Pituitary Disorders - acromegaly, prolactinoma, hypopituitarism Cushing’s disease
  • Adrenal Disorders - adrenal insufficiency, Cushing’s syndrome, Conn's Syndrome, pheochromocytoma
  • Metabolic Bone Diseases – osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency, other metabolic bone disorders
  • Obesity & Metabolic Syndrome
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and other reproductive endocrine disorders (in coordination with gynecology)
  • Adolescent Endocrinology (in coordination with Paediatrics)
  • Parathyroid & Calcium Disorders – hyperparathyroidism, hypocalcaemia, osteoporosis
